Guidelines for volunteering at one of our Rebuilding Together sites.
- Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes (no sandals allowed) work boots are encouraged and comfortable work clothes. (Shorts are okay, but jeans are recommended)
- Drink plenty of water, (keep yourself hydrated regularly,) especially in hot weather. (Water is provided throughout the day by Rebuilding Together or your volunteer team.)
- Use sunscreen as needed
- Whenever possible, please bring tools specified by your House Captain or Volunteer Team Leader with you to help with your project (please label all personal items and make sure they are in good working order.)
- An accident report form must be filled out for each injury on site.
- First aid kits are assigned to your project site.
- Can; paint, perform general clean up, and landscaping tasks.
- Cannot; perform demolition, construction, use power tools or work on ladders.
- They must be supervised on a one adult-to-one youth ratio.
- Can; paint, perform general clean up, and landscaping tasks.
- Cannot; help with excavation, demolition, use power tools, work at heights above 6 feet or on the roof.
- Can; assist with general carpentry.
- They must be supervised at a minimum on a one adult-to-three youth ratio.
